AHAs (alpha-hydroxy acids) are water-soluble, which works on the surface level of your skin to remove layers of dead skin cells. BHAs (beta-hydroxy acids) are oil-soluble, and work by penetrating deeper than the surface of your skin, to help clogged pores.
